Oilers Demolish Golden Knights in Opener

McDavid, Draisaitl Lead Offensive Onslaught

Kostin Nets Game-Winner in Playoff Debut

Edmonton Oilers, propelled by a scintillating performance from their dynamic duo, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, annihilated the Vegas Golden Knights in the opening game of their Stanley Cup series. McDavid and Draisaitl both notched two goals apiece, dictating the tempo of the contest from start to finish.

The Oilers seized control early, peppering Vegas netminder Robin Lehner with a barrage of shots. Connor McDavid's sublime backhand goal and Leon Draisaitl's powerful one-timer gave the Oilers a 2-0 lead in the second period. Undeterred, the Golden Knights fought back with a goal from Mark Stone, but it proved futile.

Rookie Klim Kostin sealed the victory for the Oilers with his historic first playoff goal, deflecting a shot past Lehner. Leon Draisaitl added an empty-net tally in the dying seconds to solidify Edmonton's 6-1 victory. Stuart Skinner, the Oilers' netminder, stood tall between the pipes, making 34 saves.
