Oilers Face Panthers in Stanley Cup Final Game 1

Edmonton Drops 3-0 Decision in Sunrise

Panthers Take Early Lead, Oilers Unable to Recover

The Edmonton Oilers fell 3-0 to the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Friday night in Sunrise, Florida. Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves for the Panthers, while Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were held scoreless for the Oilers.

The Panthers took an early lead in the first period when Aleksander Barkov scored a power-play goal just 5:24 into the game. Anthony Duclair and Sam Reinhart added goals in the second period to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead.

The Oilers had their chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to capitalize on their power-play opportunities. The Oilers went 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Panthers went 1-for-3.

Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Sunday night in Sunrise.
